- Coffs Harbour was a fruit growing and export centre for much of its history. Bananas was its main fruit export and the city’s history with the yellow fruit can be explored at the Big Banana Fun Park. Don’t miss the chocolate covered bananas.
- Locals seeking a day at the beach look no further than Park Beach. Surfers love Park Beach thanks to the waves that are produced by the shape of the shoreline. If you want to get away from the surfers and other beachgoers, mosey on over to Digger Beach.
- For more outdoor adventure, explore Coffs Creek Walk and Cycleway. The 8.6-kilometre route loops through gum trees, palms, and water sections. The Coffs Creek Walk and Cycleway is also a convenient way to get around to some of the city’s attractions.
Coffs Harbour’s weather
Coffs Harbour doesn’t experience major variations in its weather. You will find that summers are warm and very enjoyable, especially when ocean breezes blow inland. Winters are short and comfortable, making it a lovely weekend destination during the season.
- Summer begins in December and lasts until the end of February. However, the warm weather begins well before December and carries over into April. The warm climate led to fruit growing and banana production. From November through April, you can expect maximum average temperatures of around 25°C.
- Temperatures begin to cool down in late May. The cool season lasts until late August. Although this is the cool season in Coffs Harbour, you can expect maximum average highs of 20°C.
- The wettest part of the year is October to May, while you can expect mostly dry weather from mid-May to mid-October.
